CORMA is developing a complete submarine noise monitoring system, both installable on buoys and usable as an autonomous unit, which will be able to reconstruct the propagation of underwater noise in a sea basin, taking into account both seabed morphology’s and water column’s physical properties. Collected data will be transmitted in real time to a centralized system which would be able to represent the noise status on a web-based platform. In the future, the results achieved would be used to develop a series of georeferenced products on web portals and services, which could be customized according to interests of the various users as stakeholders and policy makers.
